Well I’m not going to pretend like I’m some car aficionado but I do try to make it to the American Vehicle day every year even if it’s just to “ooh” and “aah” at all of the pretty cars. This year I went with my boyfriend and we thoroughly enjoyed it and as I blogged it last year I thought I would blog it this year just to keep the tradition alive! When you live in Karori getting to Trentham is quite the mission ESPECIALLY if you don’t own a car so in the early hours of the morning on Sunday (10.30) we took our first form of public transport for the day – the first of many. After the first bus we set out on our journey – the Upper Hutt line (train) it was a forty + minute ride but it was pretty stunning, the first half of the trip overlooked the Wellington harbour and on a sunny day it looks incredible (by chance it was sunny for the first time this summer). I absolutely adore my new Retrospec’d dress so I thought I would put together a little #pinupchristmas outfit just to show it off! I absolutely adore the brand Retrospec’d and I have A LOT of their dresses on my wishlist, I highly recommend checking them out if you’re a fan of tradition 1950’s fashion. This outfit is simple but effective; the hardest part was the updo! What are you wearing today? Remember to hashtag #pinupchristmas – I love seeing everyone’s outfits! I am so sorry for the lack #pinupchristmas outfits! This is only my second one and it’s already the ninth of December; how horrid! This cute outfit embodies the festive spirit from my vibrant red Lindy Bop dress to my Elf hat – it’s the whole shabang. I know A LOT of you enjoyed my cupcake decorating photos from earlier in the year so I thought I would recreate it but make it more CHRISTMASSY (honestly, I have never said that word as much as I have been in the month of Blogmas). The cupcakes I’m baking here are using my favourite chocolate cupcake base with mint icing and minty chocolate from Whittakers – there will be a recipe post up later this week so stay tuned. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as my boyfriend and I enjoyed taking them!

After finishing up at work for the day last Friday I checked my phone only to see at least five different notifications about a pop up 10 day K-Bar Cafe. The K-Bar Cafe has been created in honour of the new Whittaker’s K-bar chocolate that are available in three flavours; raspberry, pineapple and lime. If you don’t know what a K-Bar is – it’s a kiwi classic created by Whittaker’s, most of us growing up in New Zealand would buy them from local dairies or the local ice cream truck (Mr. Whippy) they were affordable and sweet – all you could want when you’re ten. They’re essentially a toffee bar in fruit flavours – they aren’t something you can eat in one sitting (in fact I don’t think I’ve eaten a full one)! I love Whittaker’s especially since I grew up around the corner from the factory and can still remember the smell of when they were making their famous peanut slabs (you could smell it for miles). Last Saturday Sam (the boyf) and I headed out to Wellington in search of the NZ wide Pokemon GO event so I thought I would photograph it. I’ve been wanting to do a sort of day in the life/vlog but in photographs (almost like a diary) for a long time! We headed into Wellington around 12.30, the meeting place was at Waitangi park on the cusp of Oriental Bay and on approach all we could see was a wave of red. Sam and I first thoughts were “Team Valor (red team) are really organised!” Then it hit me, all the people were ladies and were dressed in red dresses with a flowers in their hair – not a normal thing in Wellington. It was of course ‘The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever’ a global event with thousands of women, men & children participating in a Wuthering Heights – Kate Bush video reenactment.
