OOTD – The Ella dress in Izu from Lazybones

Well we all know how much I love the brand Lazybones (here’s a link to a previous review of the lazybones Laura dress in watercolour)! Lazybones has been a stand out company for me ever since I first laid my eyes on the Laura dress in Watercolour in a local repro shop (and I bought it that day)! Lazybones isn’t targeted at the pinup community but embraces key components of 1950s  dresses with a twist – full circle skirts that are mid length, fitted bodices, capped sleeves AND the prints!! Lazybones prints are by far my favourite they have such a vintage vibe to them without looking kitsch or tacky – I love them!! Can you tell I’m a fangirl?? For this post I am going to keep it as an OOTD as my last post on Lazybones was a review but I will bring up some points from the last post here!

Wishlist Wednesday #1

Everyday I come across at least one thing that catches my eye and unfortunately I am not a millionaire (yet) so I have decided to come up with a new weekly segment on the blog! Seven wishlist items, one special piece of clothing/food/books/accessories for each day of the week. I hope I can add some new pieces to your current wishlist (just in time for Christmas) or even show you a new brand or two that you may have never heard of. What are some of your current wishlist items? I know a lot of mine at the moment are to do with Spring as it is starting to warm up in New Zealand – thankfully most of my wardrobe is adaptable and can transition nicely into the warmer months… that doesn’t stop me from wanting all of the halter neck dresses though!

Honey L’Amour & NFC Art and Designs – Big Hair Club T-shirt
WHY: When Honey L’amour first featured it on her Facebook I pretty much freaked out. It is an absolutely amazing collaboration between Honey L’amour (fashion designer/seamstress) and NFC Art and Designs (Artist) and it pretty much encapsulates everything I am or try to be. The sass, hair and the winged eyeliner are all of the #goals and to top it off it’s in pink! Just give it to me now!! (Top on my wishlist and will probably buy it before Christmas).

Outfit of the day + A little catch up!

First off I want to apologize for the lack of posts on here. I’ve been struggling to find balance with work and life stuff; being an adult is surprisingly difficult sometimes!  But here I am trying to get my blog back on track with a small and silly outfit of the day post.
I finished work around 4.30 so the boyfriend and I decided to head to the Botanical Gardens to take some photos, it was super windy and cold but the flowers were phenomenal. I reviewed this lazybones dress awhile ago and it has got to be one of my favourite dresses; it’s super comfortable and the print just screams vintage. And now that it’s officially Spring my signature bumper bang and floppy hat is back and I’m so ready to rock it (if the Wellington wind permits it)! Pro tip: if you ever struggle with vintage hair sets just whack a floppy hat on and it solves everything!
