‘Dolce’ Pink Spray Floral Swing Dress from Lindy Bop – Review

16-10-11-miss-flossypots-69Whilst I was up in Auckland a couple of months ago I had the opportunity to shoot with an amazing photographer by the name of The Undefined Photography. I thought I would dedicated these high quality images (I wish all my post’s photos were this nice) to a dress review – after all I love this dress! A huge thank you to Katherine ( The Wardrobe/The Undefined Photography) for giving me such an incredible experience – she made me feel so comfortable during the photo-shoot (which is no easy feat, I’m an awkward person) and she made every photo look incredible and each photo feels unique and different to the rest. This year I wanted to give a solid attempt at the annual Pinup Christmas Countdown; a lovely concept thought up by the gorgeous Miss Rouge, sharing a festive pinup outfit everyday counting down to Christmas! Here’s my first attempt at a Christmas-y outfit; I don’t have a lot of green but I have a gazillion red dresses so here’s the first of many!

Gingerbread Christmas Tree Biscuits – Recipe

I adore gingerbread biscuits and I feel as though December is the month of the ginger spiced foods and I thought I might as well make gingerbread Christmas tree biscuits; just to make it that little more festive! I don’t know about you but I do not have the time to make a gingerbread house only for it to fall down in five minutes and/or smear white royal icing on every service of my kitchen – no thanks. I decided to simply cut out triangles in the dough that way you won’t need any stencils and you can whip these biscuits up in no time at all. The base of these biscuits is vegan if you use a vegetable fat margarine which is  what I do and it tastes exactly the same.  I have also added fresh ginger to this recipe as I think it makes it taste TEN times better!

A Pin-up Christmas Outfit Guide – The Lindy Bop Edition!

This is just a general guide filled with Christmas goods from Lindy Bop; a lot of green and A LOT of red. It’s so close to Christmas now it’s okay to be covered head to toe in red and green right? I want to look like a candy cane for at least 2 weeks of December and Lindy Bop has really fulfilled this dream of mine. Sorry in advance to all my readers that don’t get this Christmas obsession; just think of it as a red & green pin up outfit suggestions?

Wishlist Wednesday #2

Here we go again with the wishlist Wednesday! I am so pleased with how the last post went down, I loved hearing all of your wishlist items and might have bookmarked a few!
This weeks wishlist is heavily focused on spring – flowers, gingham and pink! My questions this week is: What are some of your fashion favourites for this month? And will you be dressing for the festive season? I haven’t added many of my festive wishlist items this week but starting December I will have A LOT!

Miss Flossypots’ Bakes: Chelsea Buns

I originally wanted to bake cinnamon rolls yesterday but unfortunately I had only one tbsp of cinnamon left in the cupboard and it was a pajamas and gross hair kind of day. I wasn’t leaving the house  so I had a rummage around in the cupboard and managed to find some sultanas, mixed peel (leftover from my Lemon Fudge Slice) and a bit of powdered ginger. I haven’t baked chelsea buns since my culinary arts course (we had a test on them)! And I remember absolutely loving them when I baked them – they’re just as good as the bakery, maybe even better. I omitted the sugar syrup glaze which creates a shine and a sticky texture because I felt it didn’t need it – if you want to here is a simple recipe that you just pour over the buns when they’re fresh out of the oven.
