Are you looking for a splash of colour in these dark, dull and wet days? Or something light and easy to wear in a heatwave ? I’m looking at you England! Whether it’s summer or winter I have the perfect dress for you. Love ur Look Clothing recently reached out to me asking if I would like one of their pieces and of course I reached back with open arms and utter delight! I have been a fan of Love ur Look Clothing for awhile with some of my favourite bloggers wearing their pieces (Curve Creation & Miss Hero Holliday) so to have one of their pieces in the flesh is incredibly exciting for me!

As you all know I love dresses so that must mean I’m back with another dress feature! With seasons changing and New Zealand transitioning from Autumn to Winter ( it’s officially winter but I’m still in denial) I’ve been looking at my wardrobe. Do I have much catered for these seasons? No, of course not but I’ll tell you what – don’t underestimate my ability to layer! One thing I have been looking at has to be colour palettes and for awhile now I have had a wee obsession with burgundy reds and forest greens so when Dolly & Dotty reached out to me I knew exactly what would fill the gap in my wardrobe! Well, well, well… I’m back with another Lady V London dress because once again they have kicked it out of the park! If you haven’t been keeping up with me (for the past TWO years) you won’t know that I absolutely love Lady V London. I could go on and on about my love for them (and I will) but to get more of an idea of what Lady V London brings to the table you can check out my previous reviews of the Lyra Dress, Eloise Dress & the Butterfly Border Tea Dress. Lady V London is a brand I love working with but also a brand I actually shop with and wholeheartedly believe in the product, that’s why I get super excited when that dress arrives at my house – I know it’s going to be fantastic.

I often get asked “How long does it take to you to get ready in the morning?”, “How long does it take you to do your hair? It must take ages!” Well honey, I’m here to tell you it doesn’t take long at all! I’ve been dressing pin-up for about three years now and have really been through the ups and downs of vintage styling; clothes, make-up and have had so many hair fails!! And one thing I have learned is that no hair is the same; what might work for one person might not necessarily work for you and that’s okay because you’re eventually going to find something that does work for you. I’m here today to provide you with some tips and tricks or possibly just to show you that there are other ways of achieve pin-up hair! I know the way I do my hair probably isn’t the best way to do my hair but you know what? It works for me and it might work for you too!
Since taking my hair from the 10 years of supermarket black hair-dye to this amazing copper colour, my hair has been incredibly different to my black hair. I am only washing my hair once a week and my hair sets are a million times better than they used to be and I haven’t changed a thing. So if you’re feeling down about your hair not curling as well as most of the brightly coloured hair pinups in the community it’s probably because it hasn’t been bleached recently! I set my hair every night; it takes around 15 minutes and I only use bobby pins, water in a spray bottle, a section comb and a hair-scarf. It’s super basic and super easy. Plastic pieces in foam rollers or even foam rollers themselves drive me crazy when I’m trying to sleep and with pin-curls there are no issues for me and they’re a real time saver for the next day. I literally roll out of bed un-pin – brush out and I’m ready to go in 5 to 10 minutes.
If you would like to see a video tutorial please let me know in the comments section below. If I get enough requests I will do one!! And if you would like me to post any other kind of tutorials let me know – this one was super fun to do.
P.S – New game alert; drink (water) every time I write the words; pin-curl, hairspray & bobby-pin! Yikes!

Where do I even begin? The Pearl coat has got to be one of my favourite reproduction pieces I have ever come across. I lusted over it for 3 years and last year on Valentine’s Day my boyfriend surprised me with one (all of the boyfriend points to him) – I was in D-I-S-B-E-L-I-E-F. The pearl coat for a long time was this unattainable thing; a. I’m pretty sure there wasn’t anything like it on the market e.g the Hell Bunny coats that are very similar but more affordable didn’t exist, b. no one in New Zealand stocked it – like no one and lastly c. it was over $300 so if you got it you would be pinged with a customs fine! I genuinely believed I would never own one.

Well I’m back with another Cry Cry Cry feature because I am the ultimate fan girl. This week I want to speak about the latest piece from Cry Cry Cry clothing – The Mahina Skirt.
Fran contacted me last month asking which fabric/print colour I would like and of course I went for the Palm and Orchid print (because PINK) which has now been gifted to me. But then I saw the Hibiscus on purple and I knew I had to buy one myself…

Well I’m back with another Lady V London review but this time it’s different! This time I’m calling it a first impressions review, I’ve seen this idea in Youtube videos and I’m sure there have been many blog posts but I’ve never done this before! This week I’ll share my first impressions on the Lady V London Lyra Dress in the Summer Cherish print; what I like about it, why I purchased it, how it feels and the fit – like a review but without the commitment, ha!
As you saw from my previous Lady V London review I had wanted a Lyra dress for a long time but as far as I knew they were only in sizes 16 + but thankfully Lady V London recently released the Lyra dress in a size 14! But what had really sold it to me was my best friend Xamia Arc buying her first Lyra (in Leopard – read her post here); once she told me she had bought hers I bought mine the next day! She’s such an enabler but she’s always right about these things! Continue reading “The Lyra Dress – Lady V London – First Impressions”
Well, y’all know I love some Lady V London! And this week I get the great privilege of showing you one of Lady V London’s Spring/Summer new releases. We are heading into our colder weather (Autumn for us New Zealanders) but I find pretty much all of Lady V’s dresses can be worn through all seasons – trust me, I do it! I personally only work with brands I 100% truly believe in and Lady V London is definitely one. I have loved Lady V London for years (possibly one of my longest loves in the vintage reproduction world). I own five dresses that I wear regularly; in fact, I consider them a staple in my wardrobe and I genuinely love their passion for great products, service & quality.
