Donut worry be happy! Lady Voluptuous has recently released a new line of the amazing Lyra dress and I’m pretty dang excited. I absolutely love the Lyra dress style and I’ve reviewed it previously on my blog so when I saw the print ‘cute confectionery‘ I knew I had to have this dress. As luck would have it, when I commented on one of their stories I was asked if I’d like to collaborate and of course I said yes! If you’ve been following me awhile now you’ll know that I love Lady V London/Lady Voluptuous and have done for probably 3 years now and I feel very comfortable recommending their products to my audience – because they’re great. I own another Lyra dress in summer cherish which I reviewed with my first impressions as it was my first Lyra. All Lyra dresses are created equal – the prints just change and I’ll tell you what, my overly anxious mind really loves knowing that a product is going to have the same fit and it’s going to look just as good but in a different print – I know what works for my body and it gives me confidence in my online shopping!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! That’s right… Christmas! Well it’s November which pretty much mean it’s Christmas (that’s if you want to enjoy it!) Anyone else have their tree up? No? Just me? … Moving on, with it being near to Christmas and the festive season, what on earth will one wear? Well! Not to worry because the amazing Australia owned company Erstwilder has got you covered from earrings to brooches and even necklaces. Anyone else find this time of the year to be the best? Christmas films, music and not to mention the food? What are some of your favourite things about the festive season? And what’s your favourite Christmas film? Let me know below in the comment section!
The countdown is on and there’s only 51 days until Halloween. Are you ready? Because I am, thanks to Erstwilder‘s latest launch; A Haunting We Will Go.. I’ve already got outfits planned for the week of Halloween and my costume because I like Halloween almost as much as I like Christmas!! Us Australasian folk grew up watching all of you Americans with your fall leaves, apple bobbing, trick-or-treating and last but not certainly least carving pumpkins into jack-o’-lanterns business and quite frankly I was jealous and to this day I still am. Erstwilder has brought my childhood fantasy of the whimsy & nostalgia of Halloween into accessory form and I’m living for it – pumpkins (YES THE ORANGE ONES NOT THE ANEMIC GREEN ONES WE GET IN NZ), skeletons, potions, beasts and freaking candy corn!! It’s everything you could want in the weeks leading up to one of spookiest nights of the year…
Out of Africa! The new release from one of my favourite brands; Erstwilder. If you haven’t heard of Erstwilder – where. have. you. been? Have you been hiding under a rock? Please do tell. To keep it short and sweet – Erstwilder was established in Melbourne, Australia a mere 7 years ago in 2011 and has since grown into an international accessory company selling quirky, cute and nostalgic brooches, earrings & necklaces. I have been a huge fan of Erstwilder for many years now, they really have something to offer to everyone – not just the pin-up scene. TL;DR Erstwilder is a really cool brand and they make super cool accessories, okay?
When Erstwilder got in touch with me (squee!!) for this latest collection I was pretty much bouncing off the walls (metaphorically speaking of course) and I knew all of you would be excited about this range too because: animals.
WARNING: I WILL USE THE WORD ‘CUTE’ 3 MILLION TIMES IN THIS BLOGPOST.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED….
Which brings me to their latest launch, Out of Africa. It’s pretty straight forward, this range is dedicated to the amazing animals that inhabit Africa from cheetahs to meerkats; there’s such a diverse range of animals and the designs for this range probably have to be one of my favourites. Browsing through the catalog was so much fun and I know you’re all going to love them. Please let me know your favourites!
First up: Cheetara’s Chum designed by Sally Land
As soon as I saw Cheetara’s Chum I knew it was going to be a winner (I’d get this one quick!) The colouring of the brooch is so striking it even sticks out of my leopard print dress! Cheetara’s chum is such a different take on the cheetah, it’s so bold and it’s just the right shades of yellow & mustard. And I adore cats so anything to do with feline family must be mine.
This has to be my favourite brooch in the whole collection! Every aspect of this design is perfect from the freckly nose, the eyelashes to the colour itself. The colour of this brooch is so unique and sticks out like a sore thumb (in a good way). I cannot wait to wear this one out and about – it could even replace my iconic fairybread piece!!! Every time I look at this piece I smile – it’s so darn cute!
Okay y’all, I need you to open up a new tab and search ‘Fennec Fox’ – you’ll thank me later. The Fennec fox is one of the most adorable animals out there, they’re so small and their ears are so big and they’re just so precious! Finnicky Fennec Fox captures the innocence of the fennec fox and is made up of the most amazing pastels and get this – iridescent resin/acrylic ears and face. I don’t know how to explain but it’s shiny and sparkly and it gives the brooch a-whole-nother dimension. This is definitely one to see in person.
And those are my picks! I highly recommend you checking out the whole range on the Erstwilder website and please, please, please let me know your favourites!! I am a huge lover of animals so this was such a great collection to work with.
Thank you so much to Erstwilder for allowing me to review these brooches – it was an honor! I can’t wait to see what you come out with next. 🙂
Although these pieces from Erstwilder were sent to me all my thoughts & opinions are honest and my own. I do not accept products without researching brands beforehand and that aren’t suitable for me or my readers.
It’s finally New Zealand’s time to shine! This week I bring to you Daisy Jean Floral Design’s latest collection: New Zealand Natives. Daisy Jean recently reached out to me about this range and asked if I would share some with my audience and of course I jumped at the opportunity. A range dedicated to New Zealand – what’s not to love? I may be a little biased as I was born in New Zealand… So often as a small country we’re forgotten about and I think it’s super special to have a range dedicated to our native birds and flowers because they are just gorgeous.
Another week, another blog and with that another dress review!! Because dressing pin-up isn’t just a hobby, it’s a lifestyle. I’m always excited to introduce new pieces to my ever expanding wardrobe especially pieces from Dolly & Dotty! If you’re new here Dolly and Dotty is a fabulous brand from England that specializes in vintage inspired pieces (dresses, tops, skirts – the list goes on!) with a modern fit with sizes ranging from a UK size 6 -24! They have a large catalog of quirky, classic & fun prints at an affordable price and are of a high quality – trust me, I have four of their pieces now!!
