This year was my fourth year attending the American Vehicle Day at the Trentham racecourse – it’s getting to be a tradition now and I think it’s only because of the hot doughnuts they sell! You can find last years post here – I talk all about it and to be honest it’s literally the same thing every year; the same cars, people, food and mostly the same stalls; if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! It’s $10 ticketed event with tons of vintage cars from the 30’s to modern day, there are the typical food trucks (hot chips – they’re soo good, hot dogs, doughnuts, Thai food and ice cream), stalls selling retro items (no vintage that I could see though) and tons of car enthusiasts everywhere!
Last year I went all black and white because that’s was my vibe at the time but this year was completely different. My theme this year was as tradition 1950’s day wear as I could possibly get, that’s why I wore my day wear inspired out from Miss Pinup New Zealand but jazzed it up with a few different accessories! I am a little obsessed with pastel colours at the moment (well since forever) and I feel like this outfit totally encompasses that from head to toe.
#themainevent:
I don’t think I’ve really talked about this dress before; I’ve never had the opportunity to properly photograph this beauty and I didn’t want to share it until I could capture it properly! This dress is custom made by Cry Cry Cry Clothing – as you know I am obsessed with Cry Cry Cry Clothing and I choose to wear it whenever I can. This dress was based on the amazing pink dress that was created for my Miss Pinup New Zealand entry photos; I knew I wanted another variation on the pink dress and I knew I wanted it blue. And Fran delivered once again! I love the style of this dress; the fit is PERFECT. It’s a proper swing skirt too – I’m wearing TWO petticoats in these photos and there’s still room! I think having enough fabric in a skirt is so essential to this kind of ‘look’ after all there’s nothing more magical then swirling in a proper swing dress/skirt especially with a pink petticoat! Also look at that little glimpse of gingham at the bottom – I NEED a blue gingham dress in my life; if you have seen one please let me know below! I’ve had a lot of questions about my Cry Cry Cry Clothing pieces and I will say a lot of them have been custom made for me so you won’t find them on the website BUT you can contact Fran directly if you want something similar and custom made!

ALSO:
Can we just talk about these shoes for a second? These shoes are from Bettie Page Shoes and they were given to me for Christmas from my amazing boyfriend and I’m beyond pleased. I always get a little anxious when I see heels because I cannot walk in heels to save my life and I cannot be uncomfortable when it comes to shoes. I can actually walk in these and they don’t hurt and haven’t given me blisters!! I think I’m going to need these in all of the colours just so I can colour match outfits 😉 .
That’s all for this week, I hope you liked this blog post; these have to be my favourite outfit photos for this year and I can’t wait to shoot more! ❤
Super beautiful 👗 and you.
