I’ve been longing for the sun for so long and Wellington was finally blessed with 4-ish hours of sun on Sunday. Nothing super hot but there were actual warm patches in my house.. we are living in crazy times. It was my day off so I decided to lounge around in my new Joanie Clothing pieces (which they kindly gifted me) and I thought I would share some thoughts on this beautiful Bardot Sun dress & Claudia Crab Bag!
For the longest time I have stood clear of anything off the shoulder/possible arm exposure but I’m getting to that point in my life where I don’t actually care anymore. If it’s hot I don’t want to be covered in a cardigan; I need that breeze on my shoulders not another unnecessary layer! So I’m SO glad I picked this bardot dress; I decided to size up to a UK 16 not something I usually do but I know this dress doesn’t have free hips like I’m used to and when ordering a from another country I get very nervous about sizing! In New Zealand I’m a solid size 12 sometimes a size 14; ordering a size 16 was a mistake in someways. Yes, the dress was definitely too big BUT I kind of like that about it. It’s roomy and breathable; I don’t feel restricted and I can tighten the waist with a belt AND I can fit a petticoat underneath which makes me super happy!
The fabric is a light weight floral-y paisley embroidered cotton (100% too). The inside is lined so you don’t have to worry about the dress being see-through (which I love)! The straps are adjustable and the sleeves are elasticated which didn’t leave any markings on my shoulders which is something I’m always very aware of. Nothing worse than arms of a garment being too tight!
Overall I’m SO pleased with the bardot sun dress; so much so I kept it on ALL day (I’m strictly a PJ girl when I’m at home)! I wish it would come in other colourways!
Also how freaking cute is Claudia the Crab Bag? She has pockets and a drawstring for security; I cannot wait to take it to the beach (once we have a little more sun)!
I hope you enjoyed this outfit – I really loved putting it together!
